Tākiri: An Unfurling

It was a privilege to work as lead graphic designers for Tākiri a contemporary art exhibition at the New Zealand Maritime Museum. Seven artists were engaged to explore early encounters betwean Māori and European through new work inspired by museum taonga and collections. The Exhibition was bilingual and meticulous typographic treatments by Nick Eagles helped to make Te Reo a prominent and a primary form of communication throughout the exhibition. Typographic treatments deploy a visual rhythm that builds like a chant gaining momentum.
